The next release for us is from Toronto's Eternalrealworld.
A solo drone project by our friend Ilyse Krivel. Her album
Living Water exists in a space between field recording and composition. Recordings of various places of water - the Atlantic Ocean in Nova Scotia, a creek in northern Ontario, a sewer in Toronto- were filtered through electronic resonators, eliciting out the natural song of water. Instrumentation was added in support of the natural sound.
Living Water is an attempt at a positive interaction between nature and technology, one in which each element supports the other. It speaks to a hope for a way in which nature and human technology may merge in the name of beauty. it is a reminder that humans and technology were birthed from nature itself and that any idea of separation is what leads to destruction.
As a label and with Ilyse's input, we've battled back and forth whether or not to wait on this release. But, as you've just read above, the album really belongs out in the world now, more than ever. We've been sitting on this release, waiting for it's day in the sun.
